In this three-part LIVE course, students will explore the life and achievements of Hatshepsut through the art she commissioned. She served an unprecedented twenty years as Pharaoh during the New Kingdom between 1473-1458 BCE. Session I discusses her lineage and ascent to Regent; Session II covers her reign as Pharaoh. Session III focuses on the aftermath of her reign and the controversy surrounding it. Each session is one hour in length with time for questions and discussion. A Zoom link will be sent upon registration. Students will receive a PDF of further reading, but there is no homework and no required reading for the course. Simply enjoy the experience of learning! Register for either Tuesday mornings or Wednesday evenings. Students are allowed to attend either the morning or evening class to accommodate schedules. Recordings of the sessions will be made available for registered students for two weeks after each session. Morning Session: Tuesdays, October 14, 21, 28 at 10:00-11:00 AM CT OR Evening Session: Wednesdays, October 15, 22, 29 at 6:30-7:30 PM CT Please select the appropriate class when you register.
